The staff team have been carefully selected taking into consideration the need for a comprehensive skills mix, appropriate qualifications and the ability to do the job with patience, tact and sensitivity. The staff are and will be coached and trained so that they are properly equipped to care for our residents completely.
Ongoing training is also a priority, to ensure the most up to date ideas for the care, safety and welfare of all clients and staff. This includes NVQ training, Health & Safety, POVA, Food hygiene, Manual Handling, Total Communication etc.

The team is managed by Sam Gomm (Care Manager) who is responsible for the day to day running and management of Heatherside House. With over 20 years experience working with the elderly and people with learning disability.
A family representative of a person at the home said: "Everything with Sam Gomm and the other staff is brilliant. My aunt is very, very happy there. She's probably the chirpiest I've ever seen her. She's really come out of herself"
